The potential of stem cells from the blood of the umbilical cord is by no means exhausted

Many medical therapies, which were once contentious, are today acknowledged and established. As such, infections have mostly lost their fear factor, because highly efficient antibiotics have been developed; protective vaccinations make many epidemics a matter of the past.

We promote progress

Vita 34 is working on improving the blood of the umbilical cord.

We are sure that stem cells also from the blood of the umbilical cord will also write medical history. They will be able to help us to beat diseases for which there is no cure today. Science is today at the beginning of a new age, in which stem cell medicine will form the third pillar of contemporary medicine alongside medication and surgical methods.

Vita 34 is co-designing this development substantially: we are committed both to basic research and to application research and cooperated with universities and renowned research institutions throughout Germany. It is not an accident that Vita 34 is the leading stem cell company globally; on this basis you can trust us.

Our current research projects

  • Type 1 diabetes: In an international study on type 1 diabetes, we examine whether the destruction of insulin-producing cells can be stopped with own blood of the umbilical cord. In doing so, we are cooperating with scientists from the TU Munich.
  • Proliferation of stem cells from the blood of the umbilical cord: To t his end, Vita 34 is cooperating with several research facilities and institutes of the University of Leipzig.
  • Production of induced, pluripotent stem cells from blood of the umbilical cord: Together with the Medical College of Hanover (MHH), we wish to find out whether and how blood of the umbilical cord is suitable for the collection of clinically useful induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells).
  • Heart attack and stroke treatment: In stroke research, Vita 34 is supported by the Leipzig Fraunhofer Institute IZI. With the heart surgery unit at the University of Rostock, Vita 34 is developing therapies for heart disease.
We cannot promise that we will find quick answers to all questions or that they will be positive in any event. But with the research result, we contribute to a better understanding of stem cells in the blood of the umbilical cord and expanding their possible areas of application.
